Requirements for CT scan:

The patient should lie with the jaw closed and without tension in the facial musculature.
Position the patient along the midline of the CT scanner table.

  1. Patients should be positioned supine with eyes open. No restraining devices that might distort facial soft tissues are permitted. The procedure should be performed without making any incisions to the facial soft tissues, chin, nasal tip, or ears.
  2. A consistent 1mm slice thickness should be maintained throughout the imaging sequence.
  3. Image data must be saved in DICOM format for subsequent analysis.
  4. Upon acquisition, DICOM images should be organized into a dedicated folder (typically named ‘DICOM’).
  5. To facilitate data transmission, the entire DICOM folder should be compressed into a RAR or ZIP archive.
